Pluckley Village

Made in February 2010 - May 2010

Pluckley Village is a short documentary about the small village of Pluckley located in the county of Kent. It talks about the villages reputation for being the most haunted village in the country and what people in the area thought of the ghosts that apparently haunt the village.

This was the final project of my "Year 0" year. We had a number of different ideas on what to do for our final piece. But ultimately this project won out because it was something very different compared to other film school projects. We spent a total of 4 days down in Pluckley Village, filming various sights and sounds of the area and conducting numerous interviews. Although we prepared in advance and knew what ghost stories to tell, we shot blind. As soon as we got to the area we filmed various things for the project. This was because we didn't have the time or budget to come and scout the area before hand, so a number of hours were used to become familiar with the location. This proved to be an advantage for us though, because it gave us a chance to find and shoot things we never would have done otherwise
